Be of good cheer about death and know this as a truth --that no evil can happen to a good man, either in life or after death.Socrates

This memorial website was created to remember our dearest Darren Powell who was born on September 12, 1985 and passed away on July 7, 2008. You will live forever in our memories and hearts.

A permanent smile was always on your face. Chubby lil kid growing up with a BIG heart ,nothing mattered to you more than to make as many friends as possible and to be the best friend you could be.Your life was well spent with us on earth. You made everyone's life a joy as you were always happy and always laughing and never taking anything to  serious. You were so quick to forgive people and you never held malice in your heart.

A true friend indeed to many. You always gave an ear to hear someone else pain and you always gave a shoulder to lean on. You truly loved people as you would go out of your way to make new friends. You always had a joke to give and you were never too busy for your friends and family. You loved life and you enjoyed it to the fullest.

It makes no sense to ponder on your death as difficult as it is, because you were always happy, smiling and laughing. Big Papa, Big P,Powell, De whale, Darren, friend, Counselor you meant something to everyone. Your positive attitude was infectious and you had the ability to cheer up anyone ,no matter how depressed they were.

All you ever wanted was to be a friend who could always be reliable and that you mastered. I know you are smiling down on us and wrapping your arms around the ones you loved. God sends Angels to make our lives better ,thus he sent you,he knew you were capable of making people happy.God needed more flowers in his garden and you were a rose among thorns,he plucked you because you were beautiful and your light was needed in Heaven.

Our dearest Darren continue to guide us and protect us.We pray that you would never leave our sides. Until we meet again.God bless you.RIP.

Patman, I'll miss You at mornings when you are passing my house on your way to work and when would always shout me up and with some humour to make me  laugh.  I know that would be no more but I also know that where you are now is a much more peaceful place.  May your soul Rest in Peace. .

(Sigh). Boy Powell...I don't even know what to say me boy. For a couple days after I still didn't want to believe it. Its a shame good things happen to good people. I can honestly say that everything they say about you is true....You were always on a mission to make people laugh dred. Even when u were upset about something you still didn't take it that seriously. We always had conversations about the new phone we were gonna go buy..lol. I really gonna miss that. But Jesus called you home....so we gonna have to respect that. I wish all the best to your family.

RIP.

I cant forget the days you would show up at my home and help me fold my clothes and even make the bed for me. You would then say..." A DONT WANT WEST ON THIS BED YOU KNOW", just to hear me argue. There was never a time that you went to the shop and didn't bring a drink for me, you were always looking out for other people's interest. I will miss the late night talks outside and the jokes you told (all Jokes has to do with some woman eh). One thing a cant forget and you have made available for me is the love from your mother. Although your gone she still gives me the attention and keeps me posted on everything. If anything's wrong am just a door away and she will come for me. Dont worry Darren, Delroy and the others will take care of her.... and becuz of you i will take care of her too. Thanks for everything.

The funny thing about it is i would see him at the airport and out and about, and i have never spoken to him. But something about him was always friendly. He always had a BIG SMILE on his face and was always the red cap who was very friendly. Mr Powell in this day and age when the youths are going down the wrong road u was someone of hope ST KITTS WILL MISS YOU, HOLD IT DOWN IN HEAVEN

Julie ( Texas) Gone too soon July 20, 2008

I remember hearing the news of your passing and telling my friend "no it can't be him because he just helped me at the airport two weeks ago". Whenever I came home you would appear out of nowhere behind me and say "So you here again, how long you come for now". You always wore a smile and made everyone around you laugh. I knew when I saw you that my bags would be in good hands. You would always lend me your phone to call for a ride if no one was outside waiting on me.  You didn't even look back to see if I was using up all your minutes like all the other kittians do LOL. You never made me feel like I had to tip you, but I always did because you did your job with such pride and joy. I know when I come to Sk there will be a void at the airport since you won't be there. You were the RED CAP employee of the century. Always willing to go beyond your job duties to help me out when I came home. I can only imagine how you family and close friends are missing you.

Blessed are they that have the gift of making friends, for it is one of God's best gifts. It involves many things, but above all , the power of going out of one's self and appreciating whatever is noble and loving in another.

You did ordinary things in an extraordinary way, you were truly God sent.

Hey Powell,

It's your boy Goma. Am not normally moved to write in, but I didn't get a chance to attend the funeral so I felt I owed you this much bro. I know I speak for scores of persons in saying that we're really gonna miss you. You always greeted me with a cheerful smile and a warm daps/pound.

Ever since we heard the news, the Pasture Crew, still on a nightly basis mentions your name. And your girl Jay, couldn't believe that you were gone. Anyways, the brethrens miss and appreciate the time we spent with you.

Keep on smiling and keep the girls smiling too!
